Which to get? Msi 970 or Msi 1070

I want to get the 1070 however it will cost all of my money and I would need to wait a month or so until I get the card, however the 970 is only 300$ and is available now. I will only be playing in 1080p nothing higher. Which do I get?

Wait extra month, pay extra difference and get gtx 1070. Game are getting more demanding.

if Your playing 1080p I would get the 970. Even if the 1070 was in your budget I would get the 970 for 1080p. Only things I see stressing @ 1080p is witcher3 and warhammer But thats mostly on the cpu side. That or you can wait for the amd rx480.

If you want to save money go for 970 if you don't care about money than go with 1070.

If you are only going to play at 1080p a 970 is perfekt! It will get 60+ fps on all games, as long as you have a decent/good cpu! The 1070 is a really good graphics card, but can be played in 4k. So a 970 is really good in my opinion 😀

GTX970 will play most anything well at 1080P.
GTX1070 is much stronger and suitable for 1440P or 4k .

If a GTX970 represents a big jump over your old card(like from a GTX660 or 7850), then you should be pleased.
If you already have a strong card, then you may be disappointed and should wait for a GTX1070.

if you can wait the new amd rx 480 should be a very nice upgrade and be around a 980 in performance. and will start at $200 in the US. if you have to do it now, then a 970 is fine for 1080p and should be good enough for another year at least.
