Which Upgrade Should I Go With?

I want to upgrade my PC, but after really reading into it, I'm not sure what I want to get. Here is my current PC:
-AMD FX-8350 CPU
-PNY 750 Ti graphics
-CX 600 PSU
-32 GB DDR3 RAM
-Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard
-Samsung Evo 250 GB SSD
-1 TB Seagate HDD

My options for upgrading are:
1 Asus 1080 ti Founders Edition
Or:
Either a Ryzen 7 1700 processor, new motherboard and RAM, or an Intel I7-6700K and an Asus B150 Pro Gaming, so that I can re-use my 32 GB of RAM (Which isn't even a year old) What would be the best option? I could also get a 7700k and a new motherboard + DDR4 RAM. I want to upgrade my graphics because the card is getting a bit dated, and it doesn't support Direct X 12, but obviously my current processor would bottleneck the graphics. I feel like the GPU would be held back by my system. Also worth mentioning that upgrading the CPU would save me a couple hundred dollars, but would also require me having to take my PC apart again.

Solution

No what I was saying is if you buy a ITX mobo make sure you have a ITX case, it'll make it look better, or if you have a ATX mobo you HAVE to...
1080ti will be an overkill , also with i7 6700k and b150 you will not re-use your ram because it will need ddr4.
Best way is to upgrade whole system ( m/b, cpu, ram) to Ryzen or i7 or save and just buy a better new gpu like 1050ti or 1060.

Would you recommend Ryzen over i7, or vice versa? Also, I think the b150 pro gaming supports DDR3 and the 6700k, as that's the same setup my brothers PC has.

Changing you gpu would give you the biggest performance boost. An 8350 will bottleneck a 1080 ti, but not as much as your 750 ti will bottleneck a Ryzen 7 or I 7. That being said I assume this is a gaming build based on the parts. With pc gaming the gpu is the main performance pusher. For example in benchmarks the i5 6600k vs the i7 6700k, the 6700k is about 5-15 fps faster "game dependent". Where in benchmarks with the gtx 1070 vs 1080, the 1080 pushes 30- 40 fps faster

That's similar to what I was thinking. I also figured that since it's a bit cheaper, it would be easier to switch out the CPU, mobo, etc later on than right now. And yeah, it's a gaming rig, so if the graphics card will give better performance, that may be the better option. Thanks for your advice!

A version that supports ddr3 exists , you are right . the d3 version

i7 its better for games but Ryzen can do other stuff similiar / better ( Rendering, Multi-tasking etc)

I agree with M04D18, the 1080 ti is overkill, the 1050 to and the 1060 are great cards, unless you will be doing VR, then I would go for the 1070. That being said The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is on sale at Amazon for 270$ making it a tempting offer over the i7

I recommend upgrading your GPU, then later on upgrading you ram, mobo etc... The to upgrade mobo you'll have to get AM4 cpu (Ryzen) DDR4 ram, and in a case where you case is ITX a new case unless you go with ITX mobo.

I have an NZXT Phantom 530 case. Does that mean, for an am4 board or lga 1151 board, I would need a new case?

I will save around 70 dollars if I go with Ryzen over Intel. Would you think this is worth it?

No what I was saying is if you buy a ITX mobo make sure you have a ITX case, it'll make it look better, or if you have a ATX mobo you HAVE to have a ATX case. AM4 and LGA 1151 boards are the same the only difference is the socket, for instance a ATX 1155 board and a ATX 1151 board are the same thing except for the socket. ATX,ITX etc are your forms and they all have a standard mounting pattern unless its some sketchy off brand
