Hi all,

I have an FX8350 and Asus M5A97 Plus, but I am switching over to Intel (for various reasons, the simulator I use my PC for most is a single core game, and AMD is not good at single core performance). I have three upgrade options, and I wanted to see what other people thought.

System #1:

System #2 and #3 require buying more RAM, but currently the i5 6600k is the same price as the 4690k. What do you guys think?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

Build 2 and 3 are wrong, you're buying an unlocked processor, but your motherbord will not be able to overclock it.
Also, something i want to advice you is the GPU, are you going to play games? which resolution? Also, in both builds previusly mentioned, i highly recommend using dual-channel.

In addition to what is mentioned above I would also recommend a better quality PSU.

Something like this would work although no CPU overclock.

Memory: G.Skill NT Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($94.97 @ Jet)

Case: Antec Three Hundred Two ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Total: $728.27

The motherboard I was originally going to use was the Biostar Hi-Fi B150S1 D4 , is there another decent but cheaper motherboard? I also don't know if I should even overclock the CPU, I heard Intels do fine without OCing.

For the PSU, I don't remember the exact title of it, and I don't know where the box is. It is a normal 500 Watt PSU.
