Hi guys,

I have a Core 2 Duo(E6550) PC. And motherboard is Intel DG33FBC Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard, 4GB RAM. I decided to change my VGA card because I had GeForce 9400GT 512MB. So I chose these VGA cards:

ATI Radeon 5670 1 GB
nVidia GeForce GTX 260

So which one is suitable? according to the CPU power and Motherboard but I don't want crash my PC. Is that possible to run Dirt 3 on my machine if I buy one of these VGA cards? Please give an advice.

Thank-you.

The 5670 would be the way to go. A GTX 260 is more powerful but uses more power. Also, you may not get the benefit of the extra performance in the GTX 260 without overclocking your CPU, though that depends on the resolution you're using ^_^. If you have the PSU for it and the 260 will cost you the same or less, then get the 260.

Thank-you so much guys I appreciate your advice. Frnds what you think Radeon Radeon HD 4830 512MB ?? I think it's powerfull than Radeon 5670 and cheaper than that. But it consume 95watts.. I really impressed by that VGA :) I checked in newegg it was $59 :

what you think guys??

thanks for the link I checked, it's look great, but take a look these websites

is it correct or wrong.....???

I checked many games like Hot pursuit, Dirt 2, Battle Field :bad company 2.

So now I am really confused.....

wouldn't expect problems, but if you put a 6850 in there you wouldnt notice a drop in performance in most games as the CPU is the weak point. That is also depending on screen resolution/AA settings etc. For a good example, i used to run my 8800gts on a single core Athlon64 3500+, it ran ok, but when i upgraded to a core 2 duo FPS doubled in some situations. Same goes here, your running quite a fast 6870 on what is considered now to be a slower core 2 duo. If he upgraded to a core i5 quad core he would notice good performance increase across the board. If on this setup he dropped to a 5770, probably no difference would be noticed, cpu bottleneck. I think for that cpu a gtx260 or ati 5770 is the max you should go, or you may just be blowing money on a more expensive vid card that you wont see more performance from due to a slow cpu.
