Either can become the other, but I like the sci-fi universe,
where *I* have evolved Skaven, Saurus, Black Orks, Beast-
men, and others to the 41st century, given 'em weapons
and such (and keeping the ones they already had as ap-
propriate) to keep them competetive, or kept them basic-
ally *as-is*, figuring the Empire is bound to run across
planets of ALL tek and cultural levels: so occasionally I
have Space Marines fighting HUGE numbers of *vanilla*
fantasy figures, or more to my liking, my own *evolved*
fantasy figures, etc. This could of course be done vice
versa with almost the same results (although one'd al-
most certainly have to muck up the fantasy rules QUITE
a bit to incorporate futuristic figures than the other way
'round). To pick just ONE game over another to give me
max flexibility and playability both? I'd certainly still buy
large numbers of GW miniatures of all types, but I'd
totally ditch their rules in favor of Crunchy Frog Enter-
prise's excellent ALL PURPOSE MINIATURE RULES,
which were designed from the outset to enable players
to experiment with scenarios just like this: take a tac
squad back in time and fight a hit and run guerilla cam-
paign against phalanx-using Roman Legion troops (at
least they'd both still use Latin! <G>), or similar "what-
if" scenarios -- if you can imagine it, the rules will sup-
port it, and best of all, your ENTIRE collection of minia-
tures is available (and recommended) for use!
