I noticed some kind of a white patch appearing on the topmost part of my PC monitor which is easily visible in the black backgrounds. In light backgrounds its almost gone (I mean no patch or whatever it is in light backgrounds)...
I googled and saw people having similar issue but in light backgrounds contrary to mine..
So, I don't know if this is a dead pixel issue or something else..
Please take a look at the image and let me know if I need to buy a new monitor or if it can be fixed in some way?

from your description i was going to say that was light leakage, similar to ips displays

but that is not that

from the picture, that looks like a damaged lcd screen, not sure if damage with liquid or ambient humidity or what inside the lcd layers

if it is under warranty, i would apply it

if it is out of warranty, i would buy the part and replace it, or replace the unit completelly

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I think that might have happened in the past.. Because once I accidentally spilled some water on my computer table for which i had to replace my router with a new one. But I thought that was it..!
I might buy a new one rather than fixing this and wasting more money.
Anyhow..So opening up the monitor and cleaning the panel such as for dead pixel issue shown in some youtube videos won't help in this case?

i don't think any pixel is dead, that looks like something leaked between the lcd layers, i think that you can't clean anything without killing it

on some models there is a separated layer, protecting the lcd layers, it could be removed and cleaned, but this means complete disassemble of the unit and then the lcd itself, it is more likely the lcd dies in the process or you kill lots of pixels

a dead pixel often remains stuck on one color, on your image i see colors blurred, so it is not dead pixels to me

anyway if you know that could be water damage and the unit is old, perhaps is time to get a new monitor?

Yeah, I think it is...
Just wanted to make sure..
Thanks a lot anyway!
