white screen on laptop

When i turn my laptop on i get this grey horizontal lines with a black square in the right hand corner of the screen. But when i 'm on the internet the screen turns white. This only happens on the laptop screen, not when it's hooked up to a tv.

no i didn't drop it or spill anything on it

Definitely a display problem.

Can you try uninstalling current graphic driver with a newer or old one?

Hi, the problem could be the cable between the motherboard and the screen, or the screen itself, or ...

that won't work as the tv does not have that problem. did this just happened suddenly as in 1 day ok then next day the problem showed up & was the laptop moved at all between those 2 times? what is the make & model# of your laptop?

it happened the day after christmas and my laptop is a dell inspiron 15 5000
