The author of this article and other bloggers have got to be kidding. This is not a very entertaining ad. Try again, Micro$oft.

DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY!!!!....Hey at least the guy wasn't faking like every other actor out there. He was legitimately impressed. Because he is, SO AM I! :)

Old technology. Linux and OSX have had photo stitching since the 1990's. Glad to see Windows has finally reached 1990's level of technology.

This guy is A O K in my book. If only I was so impressed by a free display of refracted light, then I wouldn't have to spend 300 bucks a year to upgrade my PC to refract light for me.

I love this ad too but I think "Bear" was trying to hard to recreate what he did in the original video and it just feels forced somehow.

I think the problem here is they didn't allow him to visit the Mary Jane before filming the advertisement...can't say the same about the first video xD

Bow and worship the refracted light why don't you Mr. Bear. In that state-of-mind you could even find a pot of gold if you cry and whoa enough.

OSX wasn't released until 2001. There may have been OS9 compatible software that would do photo stitching in the '90s as there has been Windows compatible software that has been able to do it, but now it's available in free software and it works really well.

[citation][nom]Bear[/nom]What does it mean?[/citation]
It means you've had enough cheeseburgers 'bear', and that you should probably bring a pair of jogging shoes with you outdoors, not your laptop. 😛

Tapping into internet memes is going to be the key to effective advertising for the foreseeable future methinks... At least for an audience which might actually get the references, like us nerds.

It gets a -1 for him holding his DSLR away from his eye like it's a sick baby. If he would have looked at the live view and looked and the double rainbow and remarked "double double rainbow... whoaaaaa..." it might have made it OK.

Oh this is so far beyond a nerd meme now... It's been all over TV and radio, not to mention the internet (which isn't just for nerds anymore). This meme has gone full, dare I say it, *double rainbow* in pop culture.

i don't like the second video. i mean honestly, the dude was tripping LOOK AT HIM. the original video was great because he was GONE.

doing it sober takes the fun away

Sounds like there is an underlying message to this advertisement. I could see this ad being used by Apple against MS.
