Here's my current build plan:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yg9ZzM
(I want this computer to last 5 years of moderate gaming and still get decent FPS on medium settings in 2021, so that's why the parts are close to top of the line and I'm worried about longevity.)

I was looking into it, and I realized I don't need a Z170 motherboard. I began looking into H170 to save the 20$, but now I see that the DDR4 limit on the ASUS H170 PRO GAMING mobo is only 2133 mHz, but I'd like 3000 mHz. I don't know why, it just seems like to get 5 years out of this I should have 3000mHz RAM.

1. Should I just keep the Z170? I don't see any downside unless I have to fiddle with it a lot because I know I'll ruin it, so would the H170 be safer?

2. Also do you think this build will have heat problems/does the computer track the temps and alert me/make the fans blow harder or do I need thermometers or something?
4. The case comes with two fans. Should I buy a third case fan or use that money to buy an aftermarket cooler for the CPU? I imagine the RAM or mobo get hot on their own.

5. The GPU version I'm getting looks like it has two fans on it, if that matters. I just don't want anything to melt or have reduced longevity (EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING). So those, plus all the other fans, will this build be super loud? (noticeably loud if watching netflix.)

7. I think since I'm perfectly fine with 1080p graphics/60hz refresh rate the GPU won't be too taxed. For a "good enough" guy like me, is there a difference between 60hz and 144hz, or is the 1ms response time more important? (60fps max is fine by me)

8. I don't need to buy any wires or anything right? I don't care if the thing looks pretty so does it functionally matter if the wires aren't all neat-and-tidied? The issue I guess would be the wires getting in the way of the fans maybe...

9. Is it worth windows 10 pro or does the OS not really affect game performance that much?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, and thanks for any advice!

Solution
thats a lot better built quality and performance

i suggest you to get a 144hz monitor for gaming ..above all with the choice of a high end gpu card to see the full potential of gaming

the ram speed does not really improve the performance by a lot...if you choose a lock cpu you can use only 2133mhz
because in anyway the motherboard/cpu combination will automaticaly decrease the speed to 2133mhz

if you choose a non-locked cpu i mean with a K a the end , you can choose the speed you want ..but to get the full potential performance improvement ...go no more higher then 2666mhz because you will not see any difference in performance upper then that frequency

about the Z or H mobo ..it depend on the price of them ..often to get a Z board it cost only 20$ more to have a more futur proof mobo ...the Z mobo are built for overclocking a K cpu ..so they get a VRM HEATSINK to protect against overheating

on H mobo you can not do overclocking or its not built for that

with a non-K cpu you do not need to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler since the stock one is already included with the cpu

Solution
1. dont cheap out. trust me. so go with the z170
2. the mobo will monitor and adjust fan speeds, but these settings can be manually adjusted in bios
3. you forgot 3
4. i reccomend at least 2 intake and 2 exhaust fans. i consider a liquid cooling fan as exhaust so i that and 3 case fans.
5. modern fans are pretty quiet. case fans will be the lidest thing, and even those will be quiet
6. no 6
7. youll be capable of 60fps without breaking a sweat, so dont worry about it
8. all needed wires/cords will come with parts that you order. no worries
9. windows 10 pro has features over the non pro that have nothing to.do with gaming. i have regualr 64 bit windows 10.

i think your build will be great, but try not to go over 75% load on that ssd. performance will go downhill with basic operations. i had that problem. thats why i have an 250gb ssd and a 1tb hdd
