I live in a student housing apartment. The establishment provides the internet, I just need to provide the router. I have the router set up in the living room, but most of the time I use my PC which is attached via ethernet to the wall. My router has a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz option for the wifi. Lets call the 2.4 Ghz "wifitwo" and the 5Ghz "wififive". On my PC that only accepts ethernet and is plugged into the wall, somedays it names the Ethernet connection "wifitwo" and somedays "wififive", seemingly randomly chosen. When it is connected to "wifitwo", some of the features don't work. I cannot connect to some websites, some services like steam and ubisoft dont work, etc. When it is connected to "wififive" ethernet name, everything works perfectly. Why is there two named ethernet connections for an ethernet port plugged into the wall and how do I "forget" the "wifitwo" ethernet and force my PC to only connect to the "wififive" ethernet

Not sure about your connection description. If the PC is plugged into an Ethernet jack then the PC is wired.

You should not normally have both wired and wireless adapters enabled on your PC. One adapter or the other - not both.

If your PC is plugged into the wall Ethernet jack where are you plugging in your router? And what, if anything is plugged into the router?

Are you able to run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the command prompt and post the results?
