Why am i not able to play games at higher resolution ?

Hai guys i have built a new gaming pc and my specs are
1) intel i3-6100
2) Asus ddr4 motherboard
3) 8gb ddr4 ram
4) Nvidia gtx 950 gpu
5) 450w corsair psu
6) LG flatron E1942 monitor

i am not able to play any games greater than 1024x800 resolution if i increase the resolution it says out of range so what is the reason behind this (though i am able to play on ultra settings) ?

Your max resolution should be 1366x768. If it is saying out of range usually that is your monitor being unable to display the output. Basically you need a better monitor.
