Question Why am I not getting connection from wifi router?

So I just got xfinity internet and I got my modem working fine, it connects to my pc with no problem. I just bought a wifi router and when I connect i got no connection through ethernet port or wifi. Need help this my first time installing my wifi routers. My internet provider is xfinity.

Got my Netgear CM1000 and I'm trying to connect that to my Netgear nighthawk.

Do you have your lan cable from your modem yellow port hooked to your yellow port on your router? Then hook a lan cable from one of your router ports to your PC. You have to open up the router address in a browser and set the router up like the manuals says.

I figured out what I needed to do. I Just needed to spoof my MAC address. It was pretty had not knowing what to do, but it’s better than calling internet provider. Lol
