You're lucky. At the one in Reno, I've seen emplyees that can't tell the difference between an IDE an a SATA hard drive. Sent an ex-girlfirend up there with specific instructions, written out, as to which SATA hard drive I wanted. She returned with and IDE that the salesman talked her into because it was bigger and on sale at a special price. I had to go back to exchange it and the salesman insisted it was the best one for my computer. Finally got a manager and got my money back, then ordered from Newegg.

He might have done that because he thought she was an idiot and because he had an excess supply of IDE drives. But he was most likely just an idiot himself

Omg i hate futureshop. when I look in the fliers they NEVER put the resolutions for their monitors. I ask them on the phone about the resolution on a 22" LG monitor and they say its 1:1000...took em 10 minutes to find out the difference between contrast and resolution.

sometimes I believe human stupidity is infinite.

you are lucky

not really.

we have coupon cards that we sell locally to customers.

that have free oil changes
free computer scans (if say their check engine light is on)
small discounts on brake jobs,alignments.
coolingsys checks.
that kind of stuff.

it says on the card (appointment needed) and to call.
still they show put of the blue (usually when we are slammed.
and get pissed that we dont drop what we are doing.

as if they dont see 15 cars in our parking lot

then we do an oil change on thier car, and they
come back complianing that their car nows pulls to the right
or the brakes squeel, or its making a clicking noise when i turn.

and of course we tell them when we do the oil change.

ah gee mr./mrs. customer
when we pulled your car into the shop we noticed.
that your tires are starting to sepperate
and heard your brakes grinding.
and noticed that your cv boots are torn.

some people are ELSTUPIDO

EDIT: I don't know if the US has Futureshop but it's just the exact same as Best Buy. I'm pretty sure they're owned by the same company. We actually started getting Best Buy's out here in Canada and they're identical.

We do not have Futureshop, and yes Best Buy owns them

Man, sucks to be there. It's actually a LOT warmer than usual where I'm at. (Maryland) It's a nice, WONDERFUL, peachy, great 67 degrees right now. Low for tonight is 49 though, then tomarrow a high of 48. :-( Oh well, guess it had to end sometime.

 true

but you cant fix stupid.

Shotgun + Stupid employee = Darwinism at work, problem solved.

Just have the killer leave a note explaining why he did it at the scene of the crime, the owner will understand. Eventually.

Our local shop never heard of Antec or Abit. I ordered an Antec full tower once. The 3' 50lb steel baby around 6 years ago. When it arrived the guy said holy shite I never saw a case this big before. Ever hear of the NSA or a super computer? Hows 50 tons for you, 50lbs is nothing.

Cripes I get employees asking if I'm building a bomb because I picked up a resistor or diode at the Radio Crap.

I like wearing my Toms Hardware T-shirt into shops just to see who will recognize it. Still no go after 3 years.

lol!!!
"Your tires are seperating, should we check them out?"
"Don't bother I've got another good 50 thousand miles left on them."

3yrs???????????? OMFG dewd 8O 8O 8O 8O wtf is wrong with people?

It's just that they're not enthusiasts. They just have a job, they don't love it, that's it. When they finish the work, most of them go and have a bees in a lokal bar, or do something else, they don't write reviews or post in forums.

Exactly! Thats the right answer! I would like this topic to be posted all over the internet... for real

Speaking of monitors from FutureShop, I returned one some months ago because it had a dead pixel and a cable was missing. The girl working there asked me if maybe the pixel was not working because the cable was missing 😛

Well...xDxD thanx for remembering me a lot of funny stories, LOL

#1:
Guy enters store to buy a floppy drive, after half hour of watching prices and stuff, he decides to get XXXX floppy drive. 1 hour later, he gets back to store MAD...complaining that his floppy drive came without the DRIVER INSTALLER DISKETTE :|

#2
Guys enter into computer shop and ask the guy who works there "excuse me sir, that's a thoroughbred?" "no, it's an AMD xxxx+" "yeah, I know, but I mean is it a thoroughbred?" "NO, I ALREADY TOLD YOU WHAT IT IS!!!" "em... ok thank you..."

#3
I was on a "meaglomarket" and stuff, I went to check the electronics section...then I see some PC specs...and it said "HDD 120Ghz".....

#4
When asking prices for a pc I talked to someone who worked in the store I went...I asked him about the mobo "so, how much many memory does it support?" "3200" "No, I didn't ask you about speed, I mean, I'm talking about size here" "uh...emmm...2Gb" and a little bit later I asked him if he could write down the whole specs of the pc...I specifically said DETAILED specs...he gives me a paper with only the brands of the stuff inside that case...........

Just be happy that we are so much smarter than most people. The average intelligence level is sad these days. I'm told that the average IQ in America is 90.

I am trying to source the E4300 cpu locally and every shop I call has never heard of it. These are techno-dork computer shops and they keep insisting that a 4300 HAS to be an AMD number...

ARGH!!!!!!

Because all the mom and pop shops, started by people who knew what they were doing, were run out of business by the chainstores. Chainstores employ idiots because they cost less than experts, and because it doesnt take an expert to sell a product.
