i think your right

i don`t think the software supported it

your all just a bunch of slaves
how long you gonna let them push you around

I still have my Sidewinder - and very good it is too. It isn't analogue though.

I also have a Logitech Dual Action (which IS dual analogue) for playing Fifa and Pro-Evo. Does the trick. Even auto-detected by WinXP (gasp!)

Hey ppl,
Have you all ever thot about how much DVD ROMs costs in developing countries like india? Also...game companies are losing the battle against piracy in places like these, y wud they alienate those few ppl who buy original CDs?? Dvd drives are around 2k INR over here currently, almost the same as in the developed countries...but a person earns almost ten times less than wat ppl in the developed countries are paid! So in effect wat is 30 dollars to u...feels like $300 to us!

Worse yet, what kind of systems are you and your friends running?

Don't be confused, it's just Aub trying to stir up sh|t and taking the piss out of people.

Tell you what Aub, if we fined you a quid for every time you tried to piss people off and gave it all to charity we could probably solve world poverty in a week 😛

Glad you took it in the way it way intended. Last thing I want is a flame war.

Now after our digression into taking the piss out developing countries, back to the subject of DVDs.....

I really don't see a problem, a DVD-ROM drive is £20 (or less) these days, if developers said that all new releases were going to be DVD format then 99% of people would be ok about it, they may grumble a bit but hey that's technological progress. I'm sure people grumbled when they stopped releasing videos in BetaMax format but they all woke up and smelt the coffee in the end.

We have BluRay and DVD-HD on the horizon which are going to blow current generation DVDs out of the water (if they are marketed right) and where will that leave CD-ROMs? In the bin with your old stash of BetaMax videos.

can`t afford a dvd player
and if you can`t afford a dvd player how do you afford a
pc? and in anycase these companies would probably still release games on cd for the third world countries like india.
And you could always sell your red dot for some cash

BUt am saving up for a dual layer DVD writer!!!( 150 USD) really appreciate the offer though!!! Wish everyone was as friendly like u!!
;-)

150 US Dollars!!

Where are you shopping 'Suckers are us'? I paid 40 UK Pounds for one the best dual layer drives around (NEC 3500A), admittedly it was OEM but I already had a copy of Nero6 anyway.

You need to get someone to bring one over from the UK for you.

It's not surprising at all. In Bangladesh, prices are equally bad.

Plextor's 8x DVD burner (without 8x DVD-R support) costs $200 here. LiteOn's 16x DVD Burner (probably without DVD+R DL support) costs $160, LiteOn LDW-811S $115, LiteOn LDW-411S $90.

DVD-ROM prices are not that bad, but still high. They cost ~$30-$33.

Game manufacturers have no market in India. Nobody buys original games there, since nobody wants to spend the half or a quarter of their monthly income just for a game. People buy PCs since it's more than just a gaming device, softwares/games can be pirated and the pc hardware has more value than fun for 1-2 weeks. To us, it's somewhat like what buying a car means to you.
