Why are VGA still ports used when there is HDMI?

DVI is better than VGA, but I can see why they wouldn't put it on something like a laptop. DVI would take more room. Other than that there is no reason for VGA.

Now with HDMI I see no reason at all for VGA to exist. All new monitors have DVI or HDMI. All new graphics cards have HDMI.

DVI and HDMI are better quality compared to VGA. HDMI is smaller and also transfers audio.

This is only for compatibility.

Most of television nowdays still have VGA also a lot of projectors, so it is a good option to have a VGA cable if you need a analogic signal, yes it is worst than DVI/HDMI but a lot of devices use it, that is why normally notebooks have a VGA and a HDMI output...
