[SOLVED] Why can't I get an hdmi

Hi I have an Arorus x570 elite motherboard but only can get an HDMI signal from the graphics card and not the io port HDMI is my board defective???

What CPU do you have? Most AMD CPU's do not have integrated graphics and thus does not display an output. Only the CPU's that say, 'include Vega graphics' can use that port since that CPU will have integrated graphics.

Unless your CPU has -g at the end (EX: Ryzen 3 3200g) you will not be able to get any video from your motherboard as most Ryzen CPUs lack integrated graphics. Even if you have a -g Ryzen CPU, your IGPU is likely disabled when a graphics card is inserted.

Just plug the HDMI into your graphics card.

A Ryzen 7 2700x lacks any integrated graphics, so with this CPU your motherboards video ports will not function by design.

You will need to plug your HDMI into your graphics card.

That is not low end, that is a very good cpu. However it does not have integrated graphics so you cannot use the motherboard display sockets.
