Why cant I get my mp240 drivers to install

I have tried to reinstall my software with the original disc as well as downloading from the internet but I am unable to get it to install. Please help I'm about to pull my hair out.

try manual install by going device manager>right click on your printer>properties>driver>update driver>browse my computer for driver software>browse

select your downloaded driver and install.

Exactly what happens when you try? Did the system come with Windows 7 originally?
