WHy can't I type in Windows 10 Settings screen?

I click on start, click on Settings and when I get there I can't use the Search box. Why can't I type when I get there? I can use Windows explorer just fine. It's the settings that are giving me a hard time. HELP🙁

It's there but I can't type when the cursor is sitting there blinking, blinking and mocking me. Blinking and mocking and laughing at my inability to type at all. Blinking, mocking, laughing and just blocking any attempt at using that search box.

Thanks for the suggestion. It didn't help. That task started normally. I disabled it and then I enabled it. I restarted and still no change within the Settings.

It seems you are referring to the Search box within the Start Menu. I am talking about the Search Box within Settings.

. I don't need the language bar. I can see the settings box(as you can see in the pic). I do appreciate the suggestions.

Did I miss or misinterprate something?

Which I did and it didn't. Still lost... I didn't just assume but anything I tried didn't fix my issue.

Yes, I use Ccleaner often. I use it to clean. I also use it to modify my start menu by disabling or deleting entries. Only Windows based program I have disabled is One Drive.

Win ver says 1709 OS 16299.64 I have searched for upgrades both locally and through M$ site.

No. That's a bandaid or overkill. I know that fixes most every problem save malicious bad guys. I could take the easy out but there is a solution out there.

How did me disabling One Drive and other unnecessary start menu items break settings? I am seeing a disconnect there.

Forgot about that. I ran sfc? scan now command a while back
