Hi,

We have a Windows 10 desktop that has a built in Ethernet port and we have connected a USB Ethernet adapter to it. When we bridge the built in Ethernet with the USB Ethernet, certain websites/pages do not load on the main desktop with the built in Ethernet port.

In addition emails do not get sent out when the connections are bridged. Does anyone know if there are certain settings that need to be changed in order for the bridged connection to work normally? When the bridge is removed, all websites and emails load properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You likely could have just purchased a small 5 port switch for what you paid for the USB ethernet. A switch is going to be the easiest way to resolver this and you can get a 5 port gigabit switch for about $15 and a 10/100 for about $10.

It has to be some option that you set wrong. Maybe try newer drivers on the USB ethernet. Not sure microsoft has changed this and there are couple of so called sharing methods they support.

The USB ethernet adapter is for bridging purposes since the desktop only has one built in Ethernet port.

We have a punch in/out clock next to this desktop and in order for it to work, it needs to be connected to the Internet. Therefore we are trying to bridge the connections from the desktop to this punch in/out clock device.

We updated computer systems. The previous computer had a built in Ethernet port and a NIC via PCI and the network bridged option worked with no issues.
