Question Why do i get the same FPS

I just upgraded my pc to r7 2700x and raden rx 5700 and i get pretty much the same fps as i got with my 1050ti and i5 7400. Anyone able to help ?

What game?
What resolution? (Same?)
What graphical settings? (Same? )
VSync off? (hopefully)
No in-game frame rate cap set?

I use the same resoloution 1920 by 1080p and i have tried rainbow six siege gta v and ghost recon breakpoint all 3 have arounf 5 FPS difference.
My settings for all are on very high the same as when i used the 1050ti and 15 7400.
I thought the 2700x and 5700 would improve this by atleast 20-30 FPS
Vsync is off obviously and no in game FPS cap.
Is there anything that my PC could be doing thats not allowing it to reach full potential such as power supply is too low or ram

Did you fully install Windows when you upgraded your hardware, or did you recycle your previous install?

I cracked windows and dont have the usb with windows on it to do it again so im not sure how i would do it

You need to get a legit install in place. That would likely resolve your issues.
