why do my fans make a grinding clicky sound?

This has happened on my hyper 212 evo and my h100i v2, where they make a noise as if they were grinding on something. Yknow those old wheels at carnivals where you spin them and the pointer repeatedly hits wooden rods to slow down the wheel and land on a certain portion of it?
It sounds like that

Both of these instances the fans were mounted pulling air from the case and moving it straight up (Dont know if that could cause it?)

It's the bearings going bad and top mounted fans have more strain on them because of the orientation.

Bearings going bad? I've only had this h100i v2 for 5 months!

I'm assuming it's not hitting a wire or anything but that would mean this is a quality control issue. Contact corsair for replacements.

Yes it is not hitting anything. What's weird though, is the night I posted this thread, it was grinding, but I shut my PC down and the next morning it wasn't doing it at all and I haven't heard it since..
