Why do some of my games run fine and other not so much?

Hi,

I have been trying to figure out why I can run games like Middle-Earth Shadows of Mordor with the settings cranked up to high and get no lower than 55 frames with Vsync on, but a game like Batman Arkham City l have to lower the settings a bit to get a constant 60. All my hardware seems to be running properly. I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me why some seemingly un-taxing games can be so demanding for my hardware, or maybe there's something I'm missing. Anyways, thanks in advance.

12Gb of Ram

Not all games are optimized, some are very CPU/GPU power hungry, some are not. It's just game engine optimization. Batman Arkham City is known for bad optimization.
