In comparison with 8gb vs 16gb of ram, 8gb seems to get more fps

Possibly the "16GB Crucial 2666Mhz (8GB, 4GB, and 2GB limited in msconfig) " is causing some issues?

The first video isn't really useful because it's comparing RAM from two different companies. And I can't really find information on which memory chips they used.

The second video, the 8GB and 16GB runs are within spitting distance of each other that there's no definitive trend that the 8GB config is appreciably faster.

-frequency
-primary timings
-secondary timings
-command rate
-single rank V dual rank dimms
-IMCs on the Intel and Ryzen cpus
That all affect performance in some way or other... forget you even saw that video - it's more complex than that.

My thoughts were how Windows was handling the ram, with the software limiter, could be different vs when all ram was enabled. I looked at the settings in the second video.

Well yeah, there's that, but still... we're not given much about the specs of the ram used other than capacity.

The OS's page tables just doesn't cover the entire range. The size of the page table doesn't matter either as it's a lookup table.
