Good Day Everyone. I trust you all have a splendid day.
I have been with AMD for a very long time. Now I have a Ryzen pc that I stripped. Gave my brother my R5 2600 and I gave my Business Partner a 2400g and a B450 mobo. The mobo died so we replaced it last week. I thought fine I still have my First Gen I7-860. Well as Luck would have it my I7 mobo burned 2 caps.... So I thought to replace it with the same Gen. The company that I ordered from, First charges me 1k in my currency, Second they said same day delivery and 3 days and nothing so I told him he can shove it where the sun don't shine. I was left with an AMD A8-3870K and my RX 470. I even oc'd it close to 3600mhz and guess what, it was still crap....
So Last Friday I went through facebook market place. So I found a Third Gen I5 ( Not say which cpu ) with a z68 gen3 mobo and 12gb ram. I did not care about the ram as I have 16GB and I really don't see the need to add the old ram. So got the PC and She's working like a dream. The CPU is an I5 3340 3.1ghz base with a 3.3ghz boost but I went through a lot of reviews and they say it's a locked CPU. Ok the blck clock does nothing but the multiplier does. I got it set at 3.7ghz but I am limited by the board as it can only push out 3.6ghz. They also state the ram can only reach 2133mhz ram if it's a K Series Cpu. Well I got it 2133mhz on this cpu.
I am to lazy to boost my cpu at the moment as I work 14-15h a day. This is only a work PC for IT/Web Design, and entry level game dev. She's running a RX470. I will replace the cpu at the end of the month to a 3770k. Not that I need it but my brother says this pc is slow. I will show him what a 3rd gen can do. This is not the first time a company lied. Sadly we had crap support for AMD here ( I stuck with them over the FX era etc ) So 99% of the time I worked on Intels. Back in the 2000's Intel said you can't OC a 915 board. I proved them wrong as when you change cmos pins from 1-2 to 2-3 ( for clear cmos ) it unlocked the multiplier. Save changes move it back to pin 1-2 and it keeps the OC. I am going to build myself another Ryzen but I am impressed with this little Intel. I did a bench stock vs OC and I got exactly 10% performance increase but it is really loud even with a fan curve as it is a blower style gpu. I play low end games like diablo and torchlight and I use GameGuru Max rest is just work. I will post my results when I get my 3770K but I need to buy a Noctua cooler as my current case Does not really support an AIO ( I did fit one for the A8 as with a aircooler it would instant 80c doesn't matter what I did even undervolt it ran 82c )
PS: Intel and AMD and also Nvidia. We just ask to be transparent about your hardware. I am not targeting Intel as all big companies did this.
P.P.S: Holy Crap. The guy that sold me this combo is a mechanic and he made a custom cooler. It is the biggest Copper Heatsink I have ever seenon a motherboard. He took the stock intel fan and modified it to fit on this heating and took the stock lock mechanism from Intel ( Which I still believe are the worst cooler on planet earth ) and fit it onto this mobo. My Pc runs around 39c when gaming but when I just work around 28-29c.
