I have a wireless, trackball mouse from Logitech. It intermittently "freezes" the cursor on my screen. What is happening? Do I need a new Trackball? It will sometimes restore cursor motion if I gently (or not) jar it on the table. I am running Win 10 with the latest upgrades. I have an Athlon 845 Quadcore 3.5 Ghz CPU, 16 Gigs of RAM and am using 64 bit OS. Am I crazy or just uninformed?

Which mouse is it? Sometimes those trackball mice can have faulty three point connections where the trackball sits. It could also be interference from usb 3.0 devices. Try temporarily disabling them to see if helps.

It's a Logitech M570. And how do I disable the USB 3 devices? And what are they?

Smootchie:
I disabled the USB 3.0 device controller. Similar result. An intermittent track ball. Could this problem possibly be the interface? I also use a Logitech wireless keyboard, K360, through one Logitech "dongle".

Sorry, I wasn't able to get back on this weekend. There are huge number of reports of similar issues with Logitech trackball mice. I would recommend trying the mouse with AND without new drivers. I would also try the mouse plugged in by itself (not through the Logitech dongle). If neither of those work, then I would contact Logitech directly for a replacement, because I'm pretty sure you just have faulty hardware. Like I said, I saw a ton of similar reports and the main solution was getting a replacement from the manufacturer.
