Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 2600, RX 580 8gb, 16gb ram, 550 watt MSI power supply. I did have 2 1080p monitors at 60hz but it happens even when I use just one monitor. Right now I am using just one monitor to see if it reduces the load.
I have not had this problem in any other house but have had this problem for the past year and this year in this new student house share. The landlord got the electricals checked 5 times so he thinks he can't do anything else. He put a circuit for my room so it's on its own circuit and that helped for a while. I had not had power cuts for several months. But then I came back after Christmas and it started happening right away.
Sometimes it happens when the washing machine is running because the kitchen, living room, and 3 bedrooms are all on the ground floor sockets. So there are 2 fridges, 2 freezers, 1 washing/dryer, 1 microwave, 1 toaster, 1 kettle, and 1 air fryer. This is a house for 6 people. At first the power cuts were random and the fuse trips multiple times per day and per week. Seemingly for no reason. But today it happened just after I turned on my gaming PC after coming back from university.
It's very frustrating. I have tried without any extension cables and for 3 days that helped because the PC was plugged straight into the wall socket without any leads and it was stable for the weekend. Then after that I unplugged it to move it back to the original spot since I was getting new power cables. But then I moved it back and plugged it in and then it tripped again.
Now it happens regularly all week long. I can't figure out why it's only my PC. I got a brand new power supply. I got a new case and it still happens. I got new power cables and new extension leads and it still happens. My PC is air cooled with no RGB fans and no water cooling. It does not have RGB or anything fancy and is a very low powered system. Plus it's on it's own circuit. It has not happened in any other house so I can't figure out why it happens here.
It didn't happen for the first few months but then the landlord upgraded the fuse box to an AFCI one because of health and safety requirements. But this new fuse box seems very finnicky and sporadic. Also, my PC is not overclocked. It's running on default settings. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!
