Why does my GTA V have fleas?

I was playing GTA V and I wanted to google something so I used the steam overlay but when I went back into game, there were all of these black dots everywhere. The only way I could fix the issue was by restarting the game.

Does anyone know what there dots are?

It's just artifacts from using that overlay, I have never looked at that myself but if that is when they come up, that is what they are.

the fleas are a bug that is a similar bug in vmware when running compiz on linux in a virtual machine. it just ends up hanging the graphics when they overlay the wrong way and doesn't flush the buffer to reset them and get rid of it. don't use the steam overlay. pause your game and switch to your desktop then use a web browser. the steam overlay has had issues for a long time with a lot of games. they are working on it slowly and it's getting better but it's not perfect yet. if you want a good overlay system with a built in web browser you can try out overwolf. That's what I use for all of my PC games both from steam and not.
