Why does my PC seems slower in 3gb Ram than it was with 2gb Ram?

I had 2 1gb sticks installed but today i upgraded one stick with a 2gb stick so it's 3gb and technically it should've made the pc faster but instead i feel it has slowed down!

I use Bluestacks with 2gb ram it used to run smoothly but now after upgrading the ram it's laggy all the time! 🙁

the samsung actually is 800MHz (PC26400U) too, with CL7 should be a typo there

the timings of the twinmos RAM ist still better (CL5) but your system is bound to the timing of the worst -> CL6. You can try to lower the timing in BIOS, but it´s unlikely the system will run stable then

check with the tool CPU-Z, at which clock the RAM actually currently runs. Go to the tab "memory". There the DRAM frequency will be shown. The "real" frequency will be double because of DDR (double data rate) marketing.
Alos there will be shown if the RAM is running in dual channel mode or not and the actual timings

To be sure your RAM works fine, run memtest from a burnt CD or try...
First of all 3GB is not enough to run Windows. 4GB is minimum - 8GB is recommended.

Memory should always be replaced as a matched set. It is possible to buy one stick now and the exact same stick later, but even that is taking a chance.

If you pair up mismatched memory either the motherboard will run at the speed of the slowest stick
or it will explode your motherboard like I did to mine the first time I tried to just slap in some mismatched memory.

If 3GB is running slower than 2GB, just take it out.

1gb ddr2 stick is of twinmos & the 2gb ddr2 stick is of samsung

pentium dual core cpu e5300

windows 10

well donnno about those but i have the 64 bit installed

everything is running perfectly except bluestacks and ram usege is just like before more than 1gb is free 🙁

1gb Twinmos:
DDR2-800 1GB U-DIMM
64x8 16C CL 5.0
8DQT5KK5-TATP

2gb Samsung:
2GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400U-666-12-E3
M378T56663EH3-CF7 1103

Well that's your problem right there!

The original Twinmos RAM is 800 speed with 16 timing.
and the new Samsung RAM is 666 speed with 12 timing.
You have downgraded your PC from 800 to 666.

You are lucky your PC still works.

Which motherboard do you use?

For SPD in CPU-Z:
Did you chose the Slot number? Should look like this:

Could be that a restart of windows can help with this. Otherwise uninstall cpu-z and reinstall it.

In general or similar go to advanced -> dram configuration and set dram frequency to 800MHz and the timings like shown in the latest screenshot of yours. Eventually set dram config from auto to manual, to be able to alter the settings.

if the system won´t boot after that, just reset the BIOS by jumper and try other timings, e.g. CL7

my motherboard details: http://prntscr.com/ha9h4t and its Gigabyte E5300
and yeah i did all those but the SPD tab is always empty whenever that 2 gb stick is inserted btw if I insert a 800mhz 2gb ram with that 666mhz will the pc run normally at 666mhz (without tweakings)?

btw if i downgrade bus speed from 800 to 666 and upgrade 2gb to 4gb will it be worth it? i mean will i get better speed?

Try 800MHz at CL6 in BIOS, this should work easily. Just discovered that the samsung ram is CL6 and not cl7

have a look at the manual and get on page 32
to enter the bios press del key

then get on page 35
enter MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
set system memory multiplier from auto to manual and set the frequency to 800MHz

save the settings by hitting F10
