Why does my subwoofer over heat and shut down

my polk 110 subwoofer works for about 10 minutes then stops producing volume, the back panel is extremely hot.

I have heard of problems with the amps in some of the Polk sub woofers or it's over heating if the vents are blocked or clogged.
