[SOLVED] Why does the option to install on my USB drive

not show up in Steam? Game is 11GB and my USB Drive E: is 16GB. The option should at the very least appear. No?

Have you told your Steam client about that location and drive letter?

Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

Is it normal that it's taking forever? I thought it DL speeds had to do with internet speed, not what kind of drive you were installing to. Is USB that much slower than SSD? Even if it's a recent USB plugged into a USB 3.0 port? Seems weird.

Is this a game you already have installed?

You could Move it to the USB...

To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
Properties
Local Files
Move Install Folder
