Hello everyone!

I bought an external HDD about 6 months ago, and it was working as expected. Suddenly, when I tried to access my drive, windows explorer would crash, or would show that it was loading up, but with no result.

I've also noticed that whenever I plug in my drive, "Hard Disk Sentinel" would stop responding, as well as diskmgmt.msc!
I really don't know what's going on!

Thank you for your time!!

Who made drive? If its only 6 months old it might still be under warranty, you might be able to get a free replacement

Drives die, especially external ones, from all sorts of reason. There are various reasons. I haven't got a good record with external drives, all the ones i have bought have died. I expect ssd would be better though.

Hey, thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately, the drive came in a deal package with my internet provider.
So no warranty🙁

That is a shame. You could ask them for a replacement, depends how much you paid I guess. If its just an added part to it, you might be out of luck. You also don't know where it had been before you got it.

You can't fix hdd, once they stop its time to get another. If you really want an external drive I would get ssd as they likely harder to break. No moving parts.
