That's why. OEM boards rarely allow for any form of overclocking. They use non-OC supporting chipsets and they're pretty basic in terms of features and power delivery.
Is there any way around it?
If your motherboard is a standard ATX format, you could replace it with a Z68 chipset based replacement.
But, I suspect your motherboard is proprietary.
