I have 8GB of RAM, an AMD FX-8120 Black Edition (eight core), an Saphire R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 and windows 8.1, the problem is, i posses the minimum requirements needed to play the game and im not able to maintain 30 fps on LOW with everything turned off (V-sync, AA, etc.), and i am having constant dips in the frame-rate every 5 seconds approximately that just freeze the game for a second and then keeps going in a range of 16-25 fps varying constantly, i have all the patches installed, i don't know if its my computer or not, but i don't think i should be having that bad of a performance.

That and your CPU isn't even as powerful as the minimum required FX-8350. I have a 7970 and an i7 950 with 8GB RAM and even I have to use the lowest possible settings and a res of 1366x768, and I still get frames rates as low as 15-20 FPS. I've decided to stop playing the game until they release the performance patch. If that doesn't bring the performance up to a reasonable level, I'll just shelve it until I do a full system upgrade in 2016.

Solution
Could overclock. I don't have unity yet, I've got Black Flag and AC 3. I also have my 8120 clocked to 4.2ghz, and it runs the older ones fine, as well as everything else. Maybe I'll try it once they get unity fixed. But you might overclock the 8120, mine clocked ok with the unlocked multiplier, and I'm only a step or 2 above stock voltage.

Just an update. Since AMD released their 14.12 Omega driver performance on AMD GPUs has increased dramatically. I can now run on Ultra with Shadows at High, SSAO, FXAA and Bloom Off at 1920x1080 and I get plenty playable frame rates.

Even at these much higher settings than before gameplay is WAY smoother. I would go so far as to say the Omega driver likely makes the game playable even on 1 or 2 models of GPU below the minimum requirement now.

Maybe i should wait on a sale then. Just got a used 7950 off of eBay for 116. Doing a quick burn in with 3dmark right now but seems solid. Have a cooler master storm scout, it barely fits. Like less than 1/8 clearance between card and hard drive cage. Next time I'll have to get a new case i suppose.
