Why is i7 880 more expensive than the i5 3470?

Hello i was searching for the i5 3470 and found that it is cheaper than the i7 880 why is that is the i7 880 good if we compare it to the i5 3470 and will the number of 4 threades vs the 8 threads be a difference?

New, intel does not reduce it's prices for older processors.
In part because there is a limited supply for replacing failed processors with like new units.

It raised prices everywhere, especially old hardware because they are just as good as newer hardware for mining. Supply/Demand as mentioned above.

i7-880 is a lga1156 processor.

A i5-3470 is a lga1155 processor which would require a new motherboard.
Such a change using old technology is not a great idea.

What are the rest of your parts?
What is the main purpose for this pc?
In what way is your current setup not doing the job?

Thank you for your answers my pc is for gaming and only gaming i jave a gtx 1070 with 16 gb of ram and 2 tb hard disk and the i7 880 i want to get the i5 3470 with its mobo the person that i want to buy it from him will sell me the mobo with the cpu i5 3470 and i will give him my i7 880 with the mobo so what you say should i do this upgrade or keep my pc for now?

I think that is a good deal for you.
Gaming performance depends on the performance of a single master thread.
Your i7-880 has 8 threads and a passmark rating of 5601. That is when all the threads can be fully utilized.
The single thread rating is 1362.
By comparison, the i5-3470 has 4 threads and a rating of 6638 and a single thread rating of 1914.

Some games require 4 threads to run, but I know of no game that requires more.
Few games can effectively use more than 4 threads.
