Question Why is my (Active) sub so quiet?

I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 sound system. The sub is an active sub, so the speakers get powered through it. The speakers are just fine and play normally but the sub is quieter than normal- that's not to say that it doesn't work, it hits all the notes right, but not loud enough.
I have already made sure the subwoofer is turned all the way up, as well as changing the EQ on my computer using DTSX: Ultra. I have tried multiple videos claiming to fix the issue, but none are successful. What should I do to fix it?

is the PC set to 2.1?

check if the control pod is correctly tightend on one of the boxes

is the sound on other sources similar?

replace the 3.5" audio cable

How would I go about setting the computer to 2.1?
(Also I've found no other people with the exact same issue I have, no one else seems to have an active sub. The audio 3.5mm cable is not removable from the control box. The control box is properly tightened.
