Why is my computer so slow all of a sudden?

During the past 2 weeks, my computer has been running really slow, and by that, I mean REALLY slow. At times, my google chrome would freeze and it would taste like 15 seconds to do anything. However, during the first few hours of my computer start up, it would run normally but after that, things will get really slow. I tried scanning for viruses and checking my computer fans (all working properly) but I can't find a solution to my problem.

eh there is your problem i used to use avast let loads of stuff past its security i would recommend that you get ESSET Nod32 can be found here http://www.eset.co.uk/ try the free trial it will clean your computer from viruses alot better than avast will

avast is one of the top rated avs out there.it has nothing to do with that.it may,or may not be malware.an av software is only part of any antimalware solution.it should be used in conjunction with other programs such as malwarebytes.to rule out malware do the following.download and run a scan with adwcleaner from bleeping computer.get rid of anything it comes up with and post the log in your next post.next,download and run a scan with junkware removal tool,also from bleeping computer.again,get rid of anything it comes up with and post the log.start there.there is no one program that will keep you malware free and that is where most make the mistake.

its top rated for mainly 2 reasons
1. its pretty much free
2. it does a decent job for being free not the best

this is why i went with ESSET it removed stuff avast didnt even detect

Gotta wait for an hour or two before seeing results. It starts running slow after a few hours while the computer is running
