Why is my graphics card's price rising?

Hi guys, around half a year ago I got a Asus Radeon R9 270X 4GB DirectCU II for around $185ish when it seemed to only be going down. But I recently checked it's new price and it seems to have gone back in at least the 200s. On Amazon there is a few going for around 350ish and one is even in the 800s (lol yeah right). Anybody know why it's supposedly worth more? Thanks for anyone who looks into it.

EDIT: I am also aware that even if these prices are correct, my used one will not be the same price.

Solution
That is because the card is no longer in production, so what little stock is left costs more. (IE those who need a second card for Xfire).
They should not be used as reference prices.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up. Out of curiosity, I have no plans to sell mine, but would that mean mine also has raised in value or just the new ones get a higher price?
