So, recently I bought a Msi Gtx 1080 Aero oc. It works ok and is better than my previous gpu, however it does not get as much fps as my friends 1070
My specs are:
Gtx 1080 Aero oc 8gb
I7 6700
16 gb ram
I tried benchmarking a game called rainbow six siege and my avarage fps is 100, while my cousins 1070 gets 120 fps on avarge. the card which I bought is used for 1,5 years so maybe that is the problem but on https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/15094046
It shows that everything is okay and on 3dmark i got a score of 14500 which i think is an okay score but i am not sure. So I only get bad performence when playing games, oh and I am on 419.17 drivers. My gpu usage is normal 99%. I have tried reinstalling drivers as well. The temperature is usually 82.

Are you and your cousin using all of the exact same graphics settings for Rainbow 6 siege? I'm willing to bet the answer is no.
I am pretty sure we are and it's the same with other games, I am just not getting as much fps as I should. I checked how much I should be getting on youtube and I am deffinetely getting less fps than other people with gtx 1080s

EVERY setting? Antialiasing, buffering, vsync, etc? I don't play R6S, but there's a pretty long list of settings.

The same DEFINITELY goes for YouTube, and videos there should be taken with a hefty grain of salt. Every single setting in the game the same.

Likewise, same resolution, etc.

Yes we play on same resolution and settings, and I tried the same settings as shown on benchmarks in youtube, and like I said I we tested it with different games like apex legends and when we both maxed out the settings he had like 60 % more fps

Hmm, that's very strange. I'm not familiar with the game, so can't say how that could possibly be, aside from maybe background processes. I'm hoping someone else can jump in on this question.

Maybe thermal throttling? Not sure how good/bad cooler on the aero model is.

Ok, guys thanks for the help but while changing PSU I realised that I somehow put the gpu in the wrong slot. I have no idea how did I manage that, but now it works fine when I put it in the correct slot

The userbenchmark test you ran is saying the card is performing below average. Something is wrong.
