Question Why is my PC sometimes not restarting properly ?

So my PC works fine and all but when I go to restart it it'll look like it’s restarting then it will turn the computer off for a second then turn back on. When this happens I get the American Megatrends screen come up telling me to press F1. This doesn’t happen every time I restart but it’s still annoying and I don’t know why it happens.

OS: Windows 11
GPU: 6900XT
CPU: 7800X3D
RAM: Corsair Vengence 32GB @5800MHZ
MOBO: ASUS ROG b650-A Wi-Fi Gaming
HDD: 1TB ST1000DM010-2EP102
SSD:ADATA SU650 128GB
PSU: Corsair RM 850W (Had it less than a year and bought it brand new)

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

What is happening to cause the restarts? Or do you mean just the normal startup via the PC's power button?

How is the system being shutdown? Do you use the Windows Shutdown icon?

So when I click restart from windows it will have the loading icon saying restarting but the pc will then shut off for like 1-2 seconds then turn back on and I will get a American Megatrends screen saying my pc wasn’t shut down properly.

Try holding the shift key down, while restarting it from within windows power button and see if it takes you to the advanced options screen without shutting down, to test a slightly different process.

If it works boot into Safe Mode from the options screen, then once booted to destop, try restarting the normal power button way, again to see if it shutsdown.

The things is it’s random like it will restart normally a good few times then when i go to do it again it will jus shutdown then turn back on.

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify by sight and feel that all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place. Unseat and reseat (disconnect/reconnect) as necessary to be sure.

Use a bright flashlight to inspect for signs of damage: bare conductor showing, melted insulation, kinked/pinched wires, browned or blackened areas, swollen components, corrosion, cracks, missing or loose screws.
