Why is the amount of data always 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048

Greetings to everyone,i'm just wondering why is the storage amount always this number.I know that the memory chips are specific size,but why this?Is it the same reason like why is a one battery monocell 1,5 volts?I'm really curious,thanks for responses.(I apologise for any grammar mistakes made)

The numbers you list are a binary progression. (1x2, 2x2, 4x2, 16x2, etc) Since the PC deals in binary code, it needs to store data in amounts it can relate to.
