[SOLVED] Why is the RTX 2060 better than so many other GPU's despite often having a slower clock speed?

Hey Guys!
Sooo... I checked the (normal, not boost) core clock speeds for some RTX 2060 models, and they were all around 1350, which is even slower than many models of the 10-series. Despite that, only the 1080 and it's "TI"-version can best it in gaming. Why is that?
Is it just better architecture? Why is the RTX 2060 so good despite its not-so-fast speeds?

Solution
Speed is a secondary measure of performance, it only comes into play when comparing two similar cards (IE same generation, same model).
Its the same concept that processors follow, intel had far more performance offerings in the 3GHz range than the 9590 that ran up to 5GHz. It comes down to architecture (which includes multiple factors in itself).
