Why is there no audio in my headset?

I recently bought a new headset: the HyperX Cloud Alpha. Sadly, there is no audio for some of the games I play.

Assuming you have both the Microphone and Speaker 3.5mm jacks plugged into your computer in the correct ports your next step (if this is Windows 10 but should be similar otherwise) would be to right click on the speaker icon in the system tray, open the sound settings and be sure the output and input devices are set correctly.

If this relevant at all (it isnt), I don't use the headset's mic. Also how do you know if they are set correctly.

Nah that previous answer is BS...
Sound problems:
Check you've plugged in the grey end to the headset, it needs to go all the way in.
You can plug the black end in by mistake and get sketchy sound in one earphone.
Microphone problems
Check it's plugged in again (I know, lame!)
Check you haven't muted sound on the cable/dongle thing
Still no mic? It's probably windows "security"
Click Windows icon in bottom left.
Then click Settings icon second(third?) above bottom left.
Then click "Privacy" 'Location, camera'
Then halfway down on the left click microphone
Then turn, "Allow apps to access your microphone" to ON
OMFG - took me a week to figure this out.
Screw you Microsoft, you bunch of f'n c'ntz
