[SOLVED] Why is this Monitor's Price so high now?

I have a really wonderful ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27" 165 Hz That I purchased for around $500 a couple years ago. I'd love to get a second one, but I was a bit shocked when I went to buy one.

Unless I'm missing something, the price is now more than double. Is this due to demand or are all display prices through the roof right now? At first I thought it was because the model was discontinued, which can make prices do strange things, but it's still on the ASUS website. Any ideas?

I'm gonna get a refurbished one for $350, but I'd love to figure out what's going on with the price. Thanks!

1)No longer in production? Contrary to seemingly popular belief, products that reach this status do not drop down in price(retail); they go up.

2)3rd party sellers love to price gouge. Best to use 'sold and shipped by' listings from either Amazon or Newegg to avoid that nonsense... if you can help it.
