I am looking to buy this 16gb ram kit for my 2600 system.

Why is this C16 Flare X so much cheaper than the CL14 ram version found for $120 here
And how would this ram compare to this 3200mhz gskill ripjaws.

Edit - I'm not recommending these kits, but they are still ridiculously cheap and seem to work fine at 3200Mhz and 14-14-14-34 1.35v and I've got both running at 3000Mhz 14-14-14-34 1.35v.

I like Patriot ram, always have. It's what's sitting in my pc atm. May not always be the top performer, timings might be a step looser than gskills, but they've been solid for me for many years.

4000mhz 2x8gb is steep.

I only bought it, because back in October, all the CL16 3600Mhz kits were over $130 when my first kit was $105. It looked like I might be able to get CL15 at 3600Mhz when I eventually upgraded to Ryzen 4000. I actually wish I had gone with a 2x16GB kit from the start, but I'm fine with 3000Mhz with 4x8GB for now.

I was using an MSI b350 gaming plus and AMD Ryzen 5 2600

Old ram
2x4gb G.skill Ripjaws 3200mhz c16 (samsung e die)
2x8gb G.skill Aegis 3200mhx C16 (samsung b die)

If i cleared cmos the system would boot with all 4 stick, but this had the ram underclocked to 1800mhz, which i didn't know was possible for ddr4.

No boot with xmp. Heck, no boot with 2133 mhz even with 1.2v soc and 1.45v dram.

Not really an issue as i have a buyer for my old ram for $30 on fb marketplace

Update. 3600mhz C18 boots and seems stable in cinebench. Will run P95 blend and memtest to ensure.
