If graphics cards use relatively the same interface for the past 20 odd years (PCI express), how come they were never released with upgradeable GPU and VRAM sockets?
It appears to me that the board would be largely the same, save for more cores, smaller die GPU packages, and more ram.
How come we haven't seen 'upgradeable GPU cards' for sale, when everything else on the PC seems to be upgradeable?
