Question Why the cost of 2TB SSD increased a lot?

In December, 970 evo 2tb was about twice the price as the 1tb version so reasonable to buy. Since about 10 days ago the price increased a lot. How come? Shouldn’t things get cheaper as time goes?

Even strange is that the new 970 evo plus 2tb is cheaper than the old 970 evo 2tb. How come?

It all has to do with economics. Markets are dynamic. I'm no economics experts, but the cost of production fluctuates for various reasons, which affects supply and demand and changes in consumer price.

Commodity items always have fluctuations in price. Also due to tarrifs that could change the cost of the items as well. The best deal on a 2TB SSD is the Intel 660p which is under $200 right now.

tariffs are not going to help with price drops either, depending on where you live.
