Why the prices for the same types of CPU vary a lot in ebay?

Hi. I am searching used server CPUs on ebay, and I found the prices vary a lot, even for the same type of CPU in the same conditions. For example

cheap one

This is an used Intel Xeon E5-2680v2 and the frequency is 2.8 GHz and it costs $240.

expensive one

This is also an used E5-2680v2 2.8 GHz, and it costs $1300. Why the prices are so different? Just because the latter one is with a kit?

Because the people upgrading their desktop CPU usually look for the cpu model they want.

Despite you thinking a business would either have a full time IT employee or a contractor that does their work, small businesses will often task it to the "guy in the office who knows computers". Thus they just google that server model and cpu and get a result on ebay. You actually have a better chance of someone not knowing what...
Because a sucker is born every minute.

Prices well bellow market price: Possibly that the seller does not know the value of what they are selling, possibly the unit is defective, possibly they got it super cheap and getting say $250 immediately on a $400 part vs waiting a week is best for their need

Prices at market value: They have done their research and know what they are selling, i find these the safest of all

Prices a little above market value: hoping someone buys without checking or seller is not very informed.

Prices way above market value: this is typically in hopes of an unknowing sucker. In that auction they list a specific server first, then the model number. That way if the sucker has no idea what CPU they need but find "cpu" for HP DL380p then they may buy it not understanding that they can get the same thing for 1/5 the price.

Yes, I thought about that as well, but I also checked other products. For example, the prices of i7-4770k are always around 250-300 USD. Is there anything I don't understand in the server components market?
