Hi, I received my Intel NUC. When I opened it to insert the RAM and SSD, I noticed that there is a metal case surrounding the four sides. What are they for? Is it for some kind of shielding? As Intel also sell the board only version for embedded applications, I wonder if the metal case is needed.

Also, some small circuit boards are connected to the LEDs and the power switch. Is it easy to remove them without damaging the system?
