Why there is no refresh rate in TFT and LCD monitors

That is a tough question to answer.

One reason you could say that there is no refresh rate is because the displays are always on due to the backlight. They do not darken in between refreshes.

However the image is technically being refreshed as the information is sent the lcd's at a certain rate and I htink in the same way as they are sent ot CRT's but i am not sure precisely.

Like I say, tough question.
