I'm using window's 7 32 bit with core i5. It shows quad core on windows 8 [64 bit]. Then why only single core active in windows 7 32 bit? Is it because of the x86 architecture?
Try this to see if it solves your problem, Run-> msconfig-> click on boot tab-> click advanced options -> check to see if number of processors is ticked ( uncheck it if it is marked). Reboot the comp.
Because it says Processor 0 in a CPU with 4 processors on the 'Select CPU' line.
In processor temperature reading, there usually it shows all the core available in a processor like core # 0, core #1, core 2# & core 3# - these 4 cores [in a quad-core cpu]. But it is showing only the first or the only one!
From the device manager, under your computer, click on the processors it should list 4 processor names on it. it should look like it http://imgur.com/YgWGUdf

The 'Number of processors' is ticked; but there's only 1 [processor] in the drop down menu of processors!
